Viera, Fla. (May 21, 2013) − Hope4heroes.org is proud to announce that they are bringing the largest tour stop of the year so far to Orlando, FL as part of a week of events honoring our military. The Heroes and Legends sports tour honors military and veterans with golf, warrior5K runs, celebrity softball games and in this case also high end baseball games. Victor Luebker, CEO of Hope4heroes.org calls this "the most exciting sports tour to come along in years as it honors our military and veterans for charity”. The tour can be found at www.salutemilitary.com and it will also feature a weekend of celebrity events for charity in the Central Florida community from 3-6 July, 2013 including two great games with fireworks honoring our country and it’s military heroes lead by four time World Series Champion Jay Johnstone as the honorary manager of the team.
The Orlando tour stop will feature some great baseball games with the Florida Colligate Summer League (FCSL) and as a result we are seeking 12 military or veteran baseball players from around the country to showcase their talents in this great MLB development league. This is a chance for the best military and veteran players in the country to show what they have to the country over a four game series starting 3 July and ending on 6 July, 2013. Only 12 players will be selected to play due to the competitive nature of the league. “We are seeking great baseball players with a great story to share with America, a story about military service” says Rob Sitz, President of the FCSL.
“We have partnered with another fantastic organization Vetsports to ensure we only have the best possible military veterans and combat veterans playing in these historic games honoring service to country” Vic goes on to say.
To be considered a player must first send a short email with a player bio to email@example.com. They will then be sent a player package with more information about the selection process will work.
The tour is the only kind in the country with stops in multiple cities. “This takes the stand alone celebrity event and turns it into a national tour for our warriors with multiple activities and ways to play and be honored and” says Major General (USA Ret.) Alfred Valenzuela the military advisor to the tour and charity. Four time World Series winner Jay Johnstone leads the celebrity side of the tour as the national spokesman and he said this, “It’s an honor to tour the country playing golf and softball for our heroes, this tour is perfect for golfers, supporters of our military and sponsors alike”.
*Jay will be an honorary manager and coach at some of the games.
